Stage Manager
Position and Responsibilities:
The Stage Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics of the Production stage environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, the willingness to work long hours when needed and the ability to multitask and ensures that all elements of the performance run smoothly.
The Stage Manager’s responsibilities include:
- Working with Production management to maintains cast and crew lists and manages rehearsal and show calendar
- Overseeing daily technical run-throughs directly prior to shows
- Working with technical support team on lighting, sound, stage set, etc.
- Addressing and resolving any technical difficulties during rehearsals and performances
- Providing stage directions and cues to talent during rehearsals and performances, as necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2+ years of theater experience
- Demonstrates familiarity with the logistics of a theatre production
- Sets an example of punctuality and professionalism in the theatre
- Familiar with the basic function of lighting and technical details
- Willing and able to work evenings and weekends
- Manages time efficiently
- Works well with a team
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Demonstrates ability to multitask on an ongoing basis
- Possesses physical stamina required to remain standing, walking, and moving for long periods of time
- Exhibits knowledge of proper theater production safety procedures

Sound Designer
Position and Responsibilities:
The Sound Designer is responsible for obtaining all sound effects, whether recorded or live for a specific production. They are also responsible for setting up the sound playback equipment and must make sure the board operator is properly trained. As part of the artistic team, the Sound Designer needs to have imagination to create sound effects and not just rerecord them.
The Sound Designer’s responsibilities include:
- Reading the script prior to a meeting with the Director and creative team
- Attending all production meetings, some acting rehearsals, and all Technical/Dress rehearsals
- Making the cue list and working within budget
- Finding and recording all non-musical effects needed
- Purchasing sound effects as needed for each production
- Setting up any needed sound reinforcement equipment
- Becoming familiar with the sound equipment in the booth
- Consult throughout with the Stage Manager and Technical Director
- Attending all run-throughs and other acting rehearsals deemed necessary
- Training board operator on the equipment
- Attending all technical and dress rehearsals
- Working in a timely fashion to complete any changes made during rehearsals
- Becoming familiar with the Playhouse’s computer editing program

Light Board Operator (Part Time)
Position and Responsibilities:
The Light Board Operator serves as a key member of the production team and reports directly to Production/Stage Manager. The Operator’s responsibilities include:
- Running the light board during tech and all shows
- Conducting maintenance and repairs board equipment
- Participating in the strike following the closing performance
- Attending all Production meetings
- Performing light check before each performance
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have experience in a theatre setting
- Know how to operate the controls on the light board and basic commands
- Be highly organized, flexible, enthusiastic, and interested in working as a part of a team
- Be punctual and profession for work
- Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work nights and weekends

General Theater Technician
Position and Responsibilities:
General Theatre Technician will provide technical support for production related tasks including, but not limited to, hang and focus lights, run audio cables, unloading and loading equipment, and ability to work during tech and production runs as needed basis.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Basic knowledge of standard theatrical production practices
- Working knowledge of standard theatrical equipment and terminology
- Hanging, focusing lights, light board operation and programming
- Setting up sound equipment, programming, A/V equipment, and running sound consoles
- Willingness to adhere to the Playhouse’s safety protocols and policies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team-player mindset.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs and work sometimes for hours on your feet.
- Must be comfortable working in heights of up to 25 feet
- Setting up sound equipment, programming and running sound consoles
