Jacquelyn Hawkins singer/actress is delighted to make her third appearance with the Anacostia playhouse as (Bertha Williams) in “One Mo’ Time” Her debut performance was “A Nite at the Dew Drop Inn” where she played “Gazelle.” Her performance gained her recognition and an exclusive interview with the “DC Theater Scene” Her next performance at the Anacostia playhouse was in “Black Nativity” One of her roles was “Mahalia Jackson.” Her interest in the theater came late in her life, her interest in the arts has always been a part of her life. She wrote and produced her first play at the age of 12. She is a sought-after vocalist and psalmist, but the theater has now captured her heart. Hebrews 12:14 “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”
