Art All Night 2023 is a chance for the city to celebrate the performing and visual arts. D.C. will be the center stage showcasing our city’s talent diversity. The event highlights the intersection of art and business throughout our commercial corridors, placing artists on the center stage.

Anacostia Drive Thru Art Gallery (Friday Only) – Created by local artists in partnership with Art to Go-Go and Porchfest DC, the Art All Night Drive-Thru Art Gallery brings the Anacostia business corridors to life with an eclectic collection of artistic installations and original work by artists who the majority of are from East of the River. Visitors are invited to travel by car, bike, moped, or pedicab to fully immerse themselves in this journey into artistic and creative expression! The artistic installations will be on Shannon Place SE between Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and V St SE.
Capitol Hillbillies (Friday Only, 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM) – The spirit of New Orleans in the heart of DC! American Roots music and home of the Rolling Piano.

7:00 – 11:30 PM – Threads of Hope 2.0: Threads of Hope 2.0 is an artistic celebration curated by artist and exhibit curator, Luis Del Valle. The exhibition honors the rich tapestry of American culture through a showing of paintings created by artists who represent the cultural diversity of our nation. The bold colors, heavy textures, loose movement, and subject matter in this exhibit allow us to visualize the woven ethnicities that create the fabric of America. Participating Artist: Mas Paz, David Dez Zambrano, Herberth Romero, Rock Bone, Epik, Luis Del Valle.

7:00 PM – 8:15 PM – First Look: Life Isn’t Fair By Playwright, Sanjit Sengupta – James Callahan travels to New York to write a horror novel. However, his Airbnb host, Deisha Drummond, finds it difficult to deal with his arrogance. After completing his stay in New York, James heads to Washington DC to accept an award and begin working on his next horror novel. Unfortunately, a strange encounter in his hotel room severely impacts his career and personal life.
8:30 PM – 10:00 PM – AP Live Concert Series Feat. Jared “MK Zulu” Bailey – Jared “MK Zulu” Bailey is a Grammy-nominated trumpeter / rapper / singer / songwriter from Forestville, Maryland. Graduating from Howard with a Bachelor’s in Music Business, he later received his Master’s in Jazz Performance from Rutgers. Since then, MK has been working as a teaching and performing artist in the DMV through various outlets.
10:00 PM – 10:20 PM – Art is Positive Empowerment Presents: : 2chillphyl – Join us for Spoken Word by 2chillphyl, ranked 8th womxn poet in the world. Phyl, “2chillphyl”, Neal is a native Washington, D.C. poet and performing artist who has been writing for over 20 years. She is ranked the #8 Woman Poet in the World! She is a published author and four-time poetry slam winner who has been featured at Busboys & Poets, Voices in Power, Phreespace, Release Open Mic, Piano Keys and more to come! In March 2023, she released her debut book “Bye-Ku: Putting Pain in the Past” and is set to release her long-awaited second book “Phylosophy Vol. 1” in August 2023. Inspired by Nikki Giovanni, Toni Morrison, and Dwayne Carter, she aspires to speak on stages across the world. Phyl believes through words we express, heal, inspire and change the world!
10:30 PM – 11:30 PM – Theater After Dark: Radiator By Craig Houk – Lou Brunazzi & André Cooper live across the hall from each other in the basement of a shabby apartment building in the Bronx. On the landing between their units stands a noisy Radiator, which is connected to a deteriorating boiler. Determined to stop the whistling, hissing & banging that’s keeping him awake at night, André endeavors to turn the thermostat off, but is cut short by Lou who is determined to keep the radiator running at all costs. What begins as a battlefield between two seemingly inconsolable men evolves slowly into a makeshift sitting room where the pair begin to form a unique and lasting bond.

7:00 PM – 7:50 PM – Exploring DC Stories with Theater Alliance
Our city is a treasure trove of stories. From an escaped red panda to a woman living on a big chair, there’s no shortage of dramatic content right here in our own communities. Join Theater Alliance artists for a session designed to help new and experienced storytellers alike mine for stories about our city, its histories, and its people. Using a combination of existing materials and your own experience, you’ll discover some of our city’s wildest stories — and try your hand at adapting them for the stage.
8:00 PM – 8:50 PM – A Dream Deferred By Playwright, Celeste A. Frazier – On a peaceful afternoon, Edgar, a middle-aged white man with racist views, walks into Savannah Bill’s restaurant, which is owned by a Black guy named Bill. Edgar initially harasses Bill, then starts insulting Jenny, a white waitress. However, Edgar’s conversation takes an unexpected turn as he recounts a strange incident that occurred on his way to the restaurant, leaving all three of them in a surreal situation.
10:00 PM – 10:20 PM – Art is Positive Empowerment Presents: Adamo the Poet – Adamo is a dramatist, writer, and wordsmith that came onto the DMV art scene just over a year ago. A multidisciplinary language artist, his main artistic specialties include poetry, ghostwriting, and acting. Adamo has been featured at art centers and entertainment venues across the DMV area. His voice and verse can be found on short films as well as the songs of various DMV artists. Adamo has also written and performed original work in two full length theater productions. He has led poetry workshops for a few organizations, and his mission is to study the relationship between God and man as a student of the human condition.
